IN THE 1920'S DANCE WAS ALSO A HUGE DEAL OF THIS TIME. A DANCE CALLED ELECTRIC LIGHTING MADE THINGS MORE COMFORTABLE. ON THE TOP OF THAT WALTZ, LINDY HOP, AND THE CHARELSTON WERE THE MOST POPULAR DANCE AT THAT TIME. DUE TO THESE DANCES THEY WERE ABLE TO COMPETE WITH NEW MOVES AND PROFESSIONALS. THE CHARLESTON DANCE WAS BASED ON AFRICAN AMERICAN STYLES INCLUDING BLUES.

daily progress for Feb.17,2009

MY ACTION IN ENTERING THE DYA WAS TO DO MORE THAN I DID LAST TIME. TODAY I FOUND SOME INFO ON THE FLAPPERS BACK IN THE 1920'S AND WHAT THEY DID IN THIS PERIOD TIME.WHAT I FOUND OUT TODAY HELPED ME WITH MY RESEARCH ? BECAUSE IT TELLS ME HOW MOST WOMEN DRESSED DURING THAT TIME. MY NEXT ACTION IS TO GO EVEN FARTHER AND TO LOOK DEEPER IN TO MY RESEARCH.

INDEX CARD 1

http://history1900s.about.com/od/1920s/a/flappers.htm
Summary: During the roaring twenties there was a mixture of music and fashion. There was a type of thing called a "flapper" which was girls who wore make up and cutted hair and who also went to petting parties. Also they used the term "flapper" to describe young ladies. A flapper was describe in several ways, heres how F. Scott Fitzgerald described a flapper, "lovely, expensive, and about nineteen." Whereas in America a flapper has been a attractive and slightly thing who could be sometimes foolish. It also states how the image was. The image was that like they had clothes that were cut or trimmed down which made them move easier. Ladies also made them selves look little boys or as they called it, "garconne". To do this they would flatten their chest with strips of cloth. Also the clothes were dropped to their hiplines to succeed in this look.

Feb.11

today was I made good progress my action today was answerinq the 7 questions. Also i completed all of these question to my best ability. What I did today made it easier for me to do what i needed to to complete my project. My next action is to go even farther on what im looking for about this project.

product perspective

1.Research Q: How are the roaring twenties similar to the times of the 2000's?
2.A description of the form which the final product will take: I would like to make a two different scenes on the 20's verses the Now. Meaning that i will be making a movie and in 2 different parts so you will be able to understand it.
3.A justification of that form( Why choose this particular form?): I chose this form because this music made todays music what it is.
4.A definiton of the finished product: my definiton will be that this project will be showinq a comparison between the roarinq twenties and the 2000's
5.A justification of how the finished product demonstrates mastery: Well i have plan to show what made these two things differ from each other
6.A task break down/work flow for the project:
- i plan to look up info and takes the importance of it
- then i will see what i would like to use to make this a qood project
- next i will see what kind of music/clothing that needs to be used
- finally i will make 2 scenes in 1 and view it as that
7. The next actions to be taken on that project: The next thing i will do is make sure I have all the thinga that I need in order to succeed in this project
